Another 3" fell on Eagle Point Ski Resort in the last 24 hrs. The Big Flat, and Merchant Valley SNOTEL sites aren't reporting any new snow. Skies are mostly clear today, however NOAA is reporting there is a 30% chance of snow mainly before 2:00 pm. The high for today at Eagle Point Ski Resort, is 14°F, and a wind chill of down to -11°F. Wind will persist from the north/northwest throughout today, and tonight with wind speeds between up to 17 mph. South facing slopes were mostly bare before this storm, while north facing slopes had up to 16" of loose faceted snow. 9-13" has fallen in the last 48 hours, and strong winds from the North/Northwest have no doubt created wind loading on south/southeast aspects. The upcoming week is looking promising with more snow in the forecast. Early season conditions still exist. the snow pack is shallow and avalanches have the chance to break all the way to the ground.
